Women & Creativity is an annual, month-long series of events that celebrates women’s creativity and entrepreneurship across the disciplines; this year, 2012, will mark the seventh anniversary of the program. Coordinated by National Hispanic Cultural Center and Creative Albuquerque, in partnership with Bernalillo County and with the promotional support of Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau, Women & Creativity works in collaboration with over 35 local and regional partners.
Events take place during the month of March – to coincide with Women’s History Month – in theatres, galleries, performance spaces, retail businesses, museums, parks, neighborhoods, and other venues throughout New Mexico. Events include presentations, performances, art exhibitions/installations, workshops, classes, cinema, demonstrations, interactive events, and other examples of women (and men) working creatively across diverse fields.
The programming areas for Women & Creativity are broad and inclusive, encompassing arts, culture, education, leadership, health, environment, social justice, entrepreneurship, retail, tourism and more. The series appeals to groups of all ages and backgrounds and varies widely in terms of content, format, location, admission fees and times of day.
